Welcome to WhatTheBug ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use.
The App lets you identify insects using your device's camera. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
Premium features (including unlimited scans and full insect reports) are available via in-app purchase or subscription. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. You are subject to Apple's payment terms and billing policies. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
Identification results are generated by AI and are for informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional entomological or medical advice. Do not rely on the App for safety-critical decisions regarding stings, bites, or allergies. When in doubt, consult a qualified expert.
WhatTheBug and its content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited license to use the App for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App without permission.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee accuracy of identifications or that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhatTheBug and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on identification results.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision.
